Why choose British
Columbia?
British Columbia is simply stunning with spectacular scenery around
every corner and a vast array of opportunities to discover the amazing
wildlife.
British Columbia with Alberta (Canada's West) offers some fantastic
rail journeys to enjoy: Rocky Mountaineer offers four separate routes
through the Rockies - First Passage to the West, Journey through the
clouds, Rainforest to Goldrush. In addition, between Whistler and
Vancouver, is the Whistler Sea to Sky Climb. Via Rail, the national
railway system of Canada, offers three separate journeys - the Canadian,
The Skeena and the Malahat on Vancouver Island.
BC Ferries operate sailings to the Gulf Islands and to Vancouver Island.
The most famous sailing is the Inside Passage (a day's sailing) from
Port Hardy to Prince Rupert. There is also the Discovery Coast route
from Port Hardy to Bella Coola.
Travelling in this area on a car based fly drive is easily done, but
we also offer escorted tours that cover the main parts of the Canadian
Rockies, or you may want to experience the freedom of the road by
utilizing a motor home. All of these can be combined with the train
and ferry options above.
As an example, travelling from Jasper you cross the Great Divide and
start to head down towards the coast, passing Mount Robson and possibly
visiting Wells Gray Park, where you can find the highest waterfall
in Canada. Cross the Caribou cowboy country and into the Coastal Mountain
Range to Whistler with its multitude of summer activities before continuing
to Vancouver Island for marine based sightseeing and wildlife viewing
opportunities. Although described this way round we can assure you
it is just as good in reverse and including Alberta as a complete
fly-drive.
Wherever you travel in this area there is much to do. Our staff have
travelled the region extensively and can offer from first hand experience
many itineraries to incorporate individual requirements.
Take a look at our Walk on the Wild Side section to help you look
for something to meet your requirements.
