Ontario
- an extraordinary diversity of experiences
The Province of Ontario is a destination that offers an extraordinary diversity of experiences.
The hustle and bustle of Toronto stands in dramatic contrast to the majestic grandeur of
Niagara Falls and undiscovered beauty of the National Parks, including the Algonquin National
Park in Northern Ontario. The Province boasts two cosmopolitan capitals - Toronto, the largest
and most diverse city in Canada, and Ottawa, the historic capital of Canada.
|
Why choose Ontario?
The province of Ontario contains four of the five Great Lakes and
as well as the world famous cities of Toronto and Ottawa. There are
over 110 provincial parks, six national parks, 250,000 lakes and 100,000km
of rivers. The most famous of these provincial parks is Algonquin,
which features great walking and canoeing opportunities.
Many people will start their trip in Toronto. We have several escorted
tours and can put together individual packages incorporating rail
travel to many areas of Ontario.
Toronto is the largest urban area within Canada. The lively cosmopolitan
city is a capital of culture with a thriving arts scene, world-class
restaurants and exciting nightlife. Ottawa is the nation’s ultra-sophisticated
capital and boasts a host of historically significant buildings including
the Parliament Building, Museum of Civilization and UNESCO World Heritage
Site and the Rideau Canal.
For many people Niagara Falls is perhaps the place they most associate
with Ontario and undoubtedly is the biggest draw in the province.
Spectacular in any season, the thundering Falls including the Maid
of the Mist are just a small part of the attraction of this area.
Less well known areas are Elmira/St Jacobs with its thriving Mennonite
community and Kingston/Belleville offering access to the Thousand
Islands area.
The areas around Georgian Bay and the Muskoka Lakes offer a chance
to experience water sports and relax on pristine beaches and at lakeside
retreats. The biggest secret Ontario has to offer is the cabin/cottage
resorts, ideal for family vacations as they require less driving with
lots to entertain the whole family.
Whatever you want from a holiday, it is likely that Ontario will exceed
your expectations.
