Days 1, 2 & 3 - Vancouver
After arriving in Vancouver transfer to your
downtown hotel. You then have two full days to
discover all that Vancouver has to offer - Stanley
Park, China Town & Gas Town, the magnificent
harbour, a multitude of shops and dining
experiences.
Days 4 & 5 - Victoria
Pick up your car this morning and take the ferry to
Vancouver Island, en route to Victoria visit Butchart
Gardens. On arriving into the centre over the next
two days time to explore the Inner Harbour area,
the museum, the shops. In the summer months
Victoria offers the most consistent whale watching
opportunity in western Canada.
Days 6 & 7 - Tofino/Ucluelet
Drive up the island via Duncan, with its Coastal
Indian Heritage Centre and great Forestry Museum,
and Chemainus with its painted wall murals.
This area has some fantastic beaches, pristine
rainforest and some great wildlife viewing
opportunities. Your chance to see black bears
harvesting crabs on the beach and see the
majestic grey whales in Barkley Sound.
Days 8 & 9 - Quadra Island
Quadra Island a 20 minute ferry journey from the
mainland near Campbell River is a unique location.
You will stay in an Indian owned and operated
lodge, where there are great opportunities for
wildlife viewing, salmon fishing, great walking or
riding around the island on a bike.
The cruise ships on their way to Alaska
come nearly into the dining room!
Days 10 & 11 - Lund
Retrace your steps to Comox and take the ferry
back to the mainland at Powell River. Then head
northwards to the small town of Lund, the base
for discovering Desolation Sound Marine Park.
This is an off the beaten track spot and one of the
highlights of the Sunshine Coast.
Days 12 & 13 - Whistler
Travel down the Sunshine Coast with its series
of interconnecting ferries and up the Sea to Sky
Highway to Whistler, home of the recent Winter
Olympics. In the summer Whistler abounds
with many activities including zip trekking, bear
watching, quad biking, mountain biking or, for the
less adventurous, some great walking.
Day 14 - Homeward Bound
Your overnight flight from
Vancouver back to the UK.
