Canada & Alaska River Expeditions and Trips- follow the early pioneers

Ever since the first white man landed in Canada, the rivers and lakes have been vital highways across this vast country. The French Canadian voyageurs and the men of the British Hudson Bay Company had only the rivers to explore and develop the land. There was no mass immigration to the centre of Canada until the railway was built which illustrates the importance of river traffic.

Where can we go?

We have trips on rivers right across Canada to explore but the rivers of the Yukon, NWT and British Columbia are amongst the most popular.

What about the tour escorts you use?

The tour companies we use are well established, employ only experienced and fully licensed guides and work to the very highest environmental standards. They are all industry leaders and highly respected. One was used by a current Canadian Prime Minister whilst in office!

Choice of rivers

We include a wide choice of trips in some of Canada’s remote areas plus some more accessible ones in British Columbia. Your final choice will depend on your fitness level, the time you want to travel, your budget, whether you want to travel by raft or canoe. Our staff will be happy to work with you to find the right trip for you.

Rivers include (but not limited to):

Nahanni River, Tatshenshini River, Alsek River, Firth River, Burnside River, Wind River, Snake River, Coppermine River, Horton River, Mountain River, Babine River , Soper River , Thelon River, Chilcotin, Chilko Rivers, and Fraser Rivers, Stikine River, Yukon River, Gataga River, Taku River and Thelon River.

Is it expensive?

Accessing remote places often by float plane or helicopter and the cost of supporting you on these trips will never be cheap. We have a range of trips available that vary by accessibility and length to meet any realistic budget.
