14-day Newfoundland Fly-Drive
Day 1 - St John’s
After your short flight from London, pick up your rental car and take the short drive into the oldest city in North America. Lots to see and do, much of which is concentrated round the fine natural harbour in the bustling and lively downtown core.

Day 2 - St John’s
Enjoy a city tour of St John’s this morning including Government House and Signal Hill National historic Site for its stunning views of coastline and landscape and to get a feel for this pretty city with its highly coloured houses. Then depart along the Irish Loop of the scenic Avalon Peninsula visiting along the route Cape Spear, the most easterly point in North America. The Irish Loop has fantastic marine wildlife with Bay Bulls, a great spot for viewing the world’s largest population of humpback whales. Enjoy a Ferryland Lighthouse Picnic of gourmet proportions while taking in the landscape, coastline and keeping your eyes open for whales at play!

Days 3 & 4 - Trinity
The scenic drive along Conception Bay today opens up fantastic sea vistas for you to enjoy. The area around Bonavista Bay has extreme natural beauty and was the setting for the movie “The Shipping News” and also the widely acclaimed TV series “Random Passage”. The Cape Random film set offers visitors an opportunity to experience life in a typical 1800’s community.

Day 5 - Notre Dame Bay
Continue through the Terra Nova National Park with its sheltered bays and rugged coastline via the charming fishing village of Twillingate, home to whales and icebergs.

Days 6 & 7 - Gros Morne National Park
One of the best known National Parks in North America for its unique geology, absolutely stunning scenery, and beautiful communities in spectacular settings. An afternoon boat trip through the magnificent Western Brooke Pond Fjord is a must, as is a walk on the Tableland Mountains - the reason for the Park’s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Days 8 & 9 - Quirpon Island
Travel northward along the Viking Trail and then transfer by boat to Quirpon Island. This remote area offers a fantastic opportunity to whale watch, view icebergs on their southerly drift, stay in a lighthouse keeper’s home, and enjoy some amazing walking. Icebergs and whales in one day, what a package!

Days 10 & 11 - Main Brook
Today visit the L’Anse aux Meadows, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the only authentic Viking settlement in North America, Hard to believe that they were the very first Europeans ever to land in the new world over 1000 years ago!

Days 12 & 13 - The Humber Valley
This resort offers you many options at the end of your trip, including walking, golf, fishing, zip lining, cycling, caving, boat touring, or just relaxing. Many clients may choose to extend their trip by adding further days.

Day 14 - Homeward Bound
The short drive this morning to Deer Lake Airport for your flight either via Halifax or St John’s back to the UK.
