14-day Alaska & Yukon Fly-Drive
Days 1 & 2 - Whitehorse
Arrive Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon and home of 2/3 of the population. Visit the fantastic Visitor Centre to help prepare you for your trip and spend time at the Beringia Museum.

Day 3 - The Silver Trail
The area around Mayo is known as the Silver Trail, where vast quantities of silver were previously mined. Keno City (population 20) is the centre of the area.

Days 4 & 5 - Dawson City
Dawson city was the centre of the Gold Rush. Test your luck at gold panning, visit the restored Dredge No. 4, listen to the poetry of Robert Service outside his cabin, try your luck at Diamond Tooth Gerties gambling hall or visit the Follies for an evening’s entertainment.

Day 6 - Top of the World Highway
Cross the Yukon River by ferry and travel across one of North America’s scenic roads. Beautiful scenery, fascinating “Alpine style” plants and enter the USA via one of the most unusual entry points anywhere. In Tok take a look at the year round dog sledding demonstrations. Note: if you are following our 7 day Alaska extension you will head northwards at this point and rejoin later in the itinerary.

Day 7 - Kluane National Park
Travel through one of the world’s most spectacular scenic experiences, Kluane National Park. North America’s largest glaciers, common sightings of mountain goats and Dall sheep and regular sightings of grizzly and black bear, plus lots of moose as well! A gastronomic surprise tonight at a restaurant in Haines Junction with a fantastic view.

Day 8 - Haines
Haines is famous for its eagle population as it is one of the few places where the water doesn’t freeze in the winter allowing the eagles to fish and not fly south. A strong salmon presence also makes it a favourite habitat for bears!

Days 9 & 10 - Juneau
Take the ferry to Juneau, Alaska’s capital, and visit the Mendenhall Glacier, possible excursions to either Tracey Arm and Sawyer Glacier, or Glacier Bay - excellent whale watching and sightseeing en route.

Days 11 & 12 - Skagway
Ferry to Skagway, a fascinating town, follow the Gold Rush route and ride the Yukon & Whitepass Railroad, one of the top five rail journeys in the world.

Day 13 - Whitehorse
Drive back to Whitehorse for one night at Inn on the Lake.

Day 14 - Homeward Bound
Retrace your steps today via Vancouver to London. The fly drive illustrated is just one of the many options that we offer. Every client has a different need so we tailor our trips to meet your desires and expectations. If you would like a more detailed quote, details of other trips or extensive destination brochures please contact the office.
